Abstract submission for ASL 2017 closed 23rd June 2017.

The theme of this year’s conference is:

'New Science for a Changing World

We will discuss how development, population growth, intensification of agriculture and climate change are affecting our waterways and wetlands as never before. At the same time, our science is giving us more understanding of these impacts.

This conference will showcase the latest aquatic science, to help us identify and mitigate impacts.

The theme will be supported by the following key areas:

  • Adaptive management of aquatic ecosystems
  • Biodiversity and conservation
  • Biogeochemistry and ecosystem processes
  • Climate change and aquatic ecosystems
  • Ecological application of radiotracers and stable isotopes
  • Emerging digital tools for scientific monitoring and communication
  • Environmental flows: aquatic ecosystem responses
  • Environmental flows: policy, management and delivery
  • Food webs: theory and observations
  • Geomorphological patterns and processes in aquatic landscapes
  • Molecular ecology and genetics
  • Nutrient cycling

The organising committee also welcomes submissions around any relevant theme examples from:
